SAM AND IRENE BLACK SCHOOL OF BUSINESS Economics Major (ECNS) Program Chair: Dr. James Kurre The Economics major offers students the opportunity to study economics in depth and develop a solid foundation in the liberal arts. Coursework goes beyond economic research, analysis, and planning to include the arts and humanities, natural sciences, and social and behavioral sciences. Foreign language skills are a required part of the program. To provide additional flexibility, the program includes 18 credits of free electives. In addition to required core courses in economics, students may choose upperdivision courses in business and economic forecasting, econometrics, economic theory, industrial organization, international economics, labor economics, managerial economics, and regional economics. Use of computers as analytical and problem-solving tools is emphasized in the program. |
