SAM AND IRENE BLACK SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

Marketing Minor, 18 Credits

A Marketing minor offers a general marketing background to give students an understanding of core marketing principles, including marketing research and consumer behavior issues. In addition, students must take upper-level courses (at least 6 credits) in MKTG to get a more comprehensive understanding of marketing.

A grade of C or better is required for all courses in the minor.

Requirements

A total of 18 credits including:

1. MRKTG 300/MKTG 301 - Principles of Marketing

2. MRKTG 310/MKTG 342 - Marketing Research

3. MRKTG 320/MKTG 330 - Consumer Behavior

4. Select 9 additional credits in MKTG. Six credits must be at the 400 level.

Advising and Course Selection

Students are encouraged to meet with a Marketing faculty member to select courses that most effectively support needs and career aspirations.

Declaring a Marketing Minor

Fill out an Application for Admission to a Minor Program form. The form requires a signature from the student's adviser and from the Program Chair (Dr. Syed S. Andaleeb - REDC, Room 272). Students are strongly encouraged to meet first with one of the Marketing faculty to more effectively plan their personal course of study.
