TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITION - FINANCE The Sam and Irene Black School of Business at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College is seeking qualified applicants for an anticipated tenure-track position in finance starting August 2010. Qualified candidates will be considered for appointment at all academic ranks (Ph.D. or DBA required; ABDs considered at the instructor level). All areas of interests will be considered. A record of relevant industry experience and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation are desirable. Both high-quality teaching and an active program of scholarship are expected. The Black School of Business is accredited by AACSB International. It now occupies a new $30 million facility and its $20 million dollar endowment provides significant support for the quality of the School’s programs. The endowment includes support for undergraduate scholarships, graduate fellowships, library and information technology resources, outreach activities, four faculty chairs, as well as new programming initiatives. Teaching Responsibilities: Teaching load will consist of the equivalent of 15 credits for the academic year and include undergraduate and MBA courses in corporate finance and the candidate’s expertise. This position may also involve teaching finance in the University’s on-line MBA program (iMBA) offered through Penn State’s World campus. Research Support: Includes guaranteed summer research support, microcomputers for individual faculty members, full access to major statistical packages and databases, as well as funded travel to professional meetings. A partial listing of available databases includes: WRDS, CRSP, Compustat, Eventus, Lexis-Nexis, I/B/E/S, PHLX data, NYSE TAQ, PACAP, Bureau von Dijk, Datastream and Worldscope. Salary: Negotiable and competitive with other AACSB-accredited schools of business. This position will be made at the rank of lecturer starting August 2010. A record of relevant teaching and industry experience (particularly in the area of financial planning) is desirable. The ideal candidate would hold the CFP® designation. Both high-quality teaching and an active program of scholarship are expected. The Black School of Business is accredited by AACSB International.
