Careers Paths in Mechanical Engineering Technology
B.S. Degree

Mechanical Engineering Technology graduates pursue professional careers in a broad range of industries and government agencies. Employers have included companies in these industries: automotive, aeronautical, petroleum, defense, medical, power generation, transportation, and materials manufacturing.

For instance, one of our graduates supervises off-shore drilling platforms in the North Sea and another helps to manage a U.S. missile test-range facility.

Typical job titles include product engineer, design engineer, and quality engineer. Starting salaries rank among the highest of all college graduates.

Opportunities for Graduate Education

Although the normal career path for graduates of the B.S. program is to be directly employed by industry upon graduation, many students choose to further their education to keep pace with progressive technology changes. Several graduates of the B.S. program have continued their education at the following graduate schools:

University of Pittsburgh Penn State Erie, The Behrend College
George Washington University University of West Virginia
Robert Morris College University of Michigan
