Tooling: The plastics engineering technology
program exposes the students to a wide variety of tooling from the
many plastic disciplines. This includes injection molds, thermoforming
molds, blow molding molds, and extrusion dies. This exposure provides
the students with a keen understanding of the function, construction,
and multi-component interactions involved in well-constructed plastics
tooling. The tooling piece of the puzzle provides the foundation for
a successful career in part design, mold design, processing, or any
other plastics field.
