LECTURER IN PLASTICS ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY

FACULTY POSITION

Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, invites applicants for a non-tenure track faculty position teaching at the undergraduate level in our Plastics Engineering Technology program starting fall 2008. Applicants should be dynamic individuals with at least five years industrial experience in plastic product development and show commitment to working with undergraduate students and developing an applied research program with industry. Excellent communication skills are necessary. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong knowledge of part design for plastic processes, solid modeling of plastic components and tooling, and computer simulation of molding or extrusion processes. Experience that includes management or a project management background as an engineering professional is desired. Qualified candidates are required to have a B.S. in plastics, mechanical engineering or engineering technology; a M.S. or P.E. is preferred.

There are five colleges in the area.

Part-time Faculty Positions
 

The School of Engineering at Penn State Behrend employs part-time instructors in computer programming, electrical engineering, electrical and computer engineering technology, engineering graphics, engineering mechanics, industrial engineering technology, materials science engineering, mechanical engineering technology, and plastics engineering technology.

Most part-time instruction is at the introductory college level. Needs depend upon course schedules, enrollments, and faculty leaqves, and sometimes areise on relatively short notice.

The School will accept applications at any time and keep them on file for consideration should vacancies occur. A M.S. degree or higher with teaching experience is preferred.
