The Penn State Behrend Honors Program The Penn State Behrend Honors Program
is designed to provide a richer academic experience for highly qualified
students at freshman and sophomore levels. Eligibility and Retention Criteria Incoming baccalaureate or associate degree freshmen are invited to participate in the Penn State Behrend Honors Program on the basis of their high school performance and SAT scores. Students may join also at the end of their first or second semesters of study if they achieve a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.50. Students remain eligible for the program by maintaining a minimum 3.33 G.P.A. each semester, completing at least one Honors course per semester and filing an Annual Academic Plan. (Honors eligibility criteria is subject to change). Recognition At the end of the sophomore year, a student who has successfully completed nine or more credits while maintaining a cumulative 3.33 G.P.A. will be awarded an Honors Certificate. There are also opportunities to enter the Schreyer Scholars Program at the end of the freshman and sophomore years and to continue study toward a Penn State Honors Degree. |
