Dr. Gary A. Viebranz is the Director of Instrumental Ensembles at Penn State Behrend , where he is a Lecturer in Music.Gary Viebranz

He was graduated from The Ohio State University with the Bachelor of Music Education degree, cum laude. He holds the Master of Music degree in tuba performance and wind conducting, as well as the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in wind conducting from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati.

His conducting teachers have included Dr. Donald McGinnis, Dr. Terence Milligan and Mr. Eugene Corporon, and he has studied tuba with Mr. Robert LeBlanc and Mr. Samuel Green.  

Prior to his appointment at Penn State Erie, Dr. Viebranz was a member of the faculty at Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio. In addition to his work at Hiram, he brings fifteen years of successful experience in public school education. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, the Music Educator's National Conference, the College Band Directors National Association, the National Band Association, the American Federation of Musicians, local 17, and the Tubists Universal Brotherhood Association.
