How do I register?

Nondegree Undergraduate Students

Enrollment as a nondegree student does not imply admission to the University. You must make formal application to the Office of Admissions to be considered for admission as an undergraduate degree candidate.

There are two categories of undergraduate nondegree enrollment:

  • Nondegree Regular - Any person having received a high school diploma or its equivalent may be permitted to register as a nondegree regular student.

  • Nondegree Conditional - Any student who has been dropped from degree or provisional status by Penn State or any other college or university because of unsatisfactory scholarship may be permitted to register as a nondegree conditional student. Restrictions are applied to a student registering in nondegree conditional status: (1) limited to 12 credits per semester; (2) limited to 40 credits overall; (3) must obtain academic advice before registering.

Mail or Fax: An individual who wishes to register for the first time as a nondegree student must complete the Summer 2008 Course Registration form. To request a Summer Schedule 2008 brochure, please contact Biddy Brooks at bab9@psu.edu or 814-898-6700. You can also print a copy of the form to mail or fax. All nondegree students register on a space available basis. Form can be mailed to Office of the College Registrar, Penn State Behrend, 4651 College Drive, Erie, Pa 16563 or faxed to 814-898-6382.

In Person: Register at the Penn State Behrend Registrar's office, 12 Erie Hall. Office hours are Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Registering in person requires completion of a drop/add form (obtained from Registrar's Office) and photo identification.

Completing your registration:

  • The Penn State registration process consists of two steps: (1) student enrolls in specific course(s) and (2) registration is complete upon receipt of payment of tuition and fees. A student who has enrolled in courses will receive a statement of tuition and fees located on the student’s eLion web site. Electronic payment via eCheck is available on eLion. The eCheck option is a fast and secure method to pay your tuition bill from any checking account. There is no charge to pay by eCheck. Additionally, you may pay by credit (Mastercard or Discover) via eLion. A 2% convenience fee will be charged for credit card payments over the web. We cannot accept credit card payments via mail, phone, or in person. If you wish to mail a check, you may print a payment voucher from eLion and mail it with your payment to Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, Bursar’s Office, 4651 College Drive, Erie, PA 16563. Your payment must be postmarked by the due date on your bill to avoid a late payment fee. Please allow time for processing (5-7days). If student does not have access to eLion; contact the Bursar's Office for bill.
  • A student’s schedule is not officially recorded until tuition is paid in full. Tuition payment is due before or on the first day of a session. Current tuition and fee information can be obtained at the Bursar’s web page: www.bursar.psu.edu or by calling the Penn State Behrend Bursar’s office, 814-898-6224.
