Glenhill Society Gala

More than 120 benefactors and friends of Penn State Behrend attended the 2005 induction ceremony for the Glenhill Society in the Reed Union Building’s McGarvey Commons. The Glenhill Society was created to recognize individuals whose personal cumulative gifts reach the $50,000 to $99,999 level.Kurt Buseck (left), chairman of the Council of Fellows, shares a tale with P.C. "Hoop" Roche (past chairman, Council of Fellows) and Chancellor Jack Burke.

Joining Jack Burke as hosts for the event were Council of Fellows Chair Kurt Buseck and immediate past Chair Hoop Roche. A highlight of the evening was Staci Banaszak's discussion on how philanthropy has helped her. Following her remarks, she was awarded the Lawrence and Elizabeth Held Scholarship for the next academic year.

Senior Staci Banaszek is surrounded by her parents at the dinner. Staci spoke to the crowd about how their gifts benefit Penn State Behrend students. The program included a video featuring the history of Mary Behrend’s gift of her 400-acre Glenhill Farm to Penn State. The video discussed the impact of the philanthropic gifts from these donors, a group that includes many who support Trustee Matching Scholarships.
