Jessica Sarver Named to NCAA All-Mideast Team

Jessica Sarver (Freeport/Freeport) was selected to the NCAA all-regional team in the Mideast region for her remarkable showing at the NCAA Mideast Regional race.  The sophomore finished the 6K race in twenty-eighth place out of a field of 237 runners with a time of 22:16.38.  Her time was the fastest of any runner from the AMCC conference.  The Behrend team was also the top team finisher from the conference for the women, coming in 17th out of 34 teams.

"Jessica Sarver's performance was the culmination of a year-long journey of progress.  One year ago Jessica could barely finish a race and was later diagnosed with an iron deficiency.  A year later she's on the all-regional team," says head coach Dave Cooper.

Sarver has been a three-time AMCC athlete of the week for the Behrend team and was also named to the AMCC all-conference team, after finishing first at the AMCC championships.
