Women's Cross Country Ranked Tenth in Regional Poll

After finishing sixth in the NCAA regional meet last fall out of 36 qualifying schools, the women's cross country team has been predicted to be a top contender again this season.

"The top ten pick by the NCAA Mid East Region coaches poll is a reflection of the team's early season performances," said head coach Dave Cooper.   "The key to holding onto, or improving upon the tenth place ranking will be getting our runners into a tighter pack."

Senior Jessica Knapp has been the top finisher for the women's team in both invitationals so far this season.  Last weekend at the Behrend Invitational, Knapp placed first out of 87 runners which later earned her AMCC runner of the week recognition.  Sophomore Leslie Gentile finished fourth at the Behrend Invitational, her first invitational of the season.

The Behrend Lions will hit to the road headed to the Allegheny Invitational on Saturday, September 25 at 10:00 a.m.
