Behrend Cross Country to Host Annual Invitational
The men's and women's cross country team will invite a total of twenty
colleges, high schools, and middle schools from around the area to this
year's Behrend Invitational. The event will kick off Saturday,
September 16 at 9:00 a.m. with the Jr. high school Races. High school
varsity races will begin at 9:30 a.m., with an awards presentation at 10:45
a.m. The Behrend women will hit the course at 11:00 a.m., and the men
will begin at 11:45 a.m.
The Behrend men's team is coming off a fourth place finish at the Westminster Invitational, where they were led by senior captain Brad Ruffo (West Middlesex/West Middlesex) who finished second. The women's team took fifth at the Westminster Invitational and were led by Jenny Bailey (Corry/Corry) who finished in fourth place.
Last season, the Behrend men finished fourth out of ten at their Invitational. Ruffo led Behrend with an eighth place finish out of 111 total runners. The women grabbed seventh place out of a field of fourteen and were paced by Bailey who crossed the finish line in fifteenth place.
Behrend cross country will be in action again on October 7, when they travel to Dickinson for the Dickinson Invitational.
