Behrend Cross Country Competes at the Dickinson Invitational

Behrend men's and women's cross country traveled to Dickinson on October 7 for the Dickinson Invitational.  The men finished with a team score of 116 and placed twelfth out of nineteen teams while the women grabbed eleventh place out of a total seventeen teams with a score of 110.

Crossing first for the men's team was senior captain Brad Ruffo (West Middlesex/West Middlesex), who finished the 8K run in 27:18.45, putting him in seventeenth place overall.  Leading the way for the women was sophomore sensation Jenny Bailey (Corry/Corry).  Bailey ran the women's 6K in 24:14.35, good enough for twenty-third overall.

Also helping the men was Kevin Gorny (Erie/McDowell), who crossed in at fifty-seventh place with a time of 28:44.81.  Andy Iams (Harrison City/Penn Trafford) ran the third-best time for the men at 29:12.01.  On the women's side, Willa Paterson (Woodward/Penns Valley) came in at forty-second with a time of 24:50.20.  Leisl Soergel (Evans City/Butler) chipped in with a finishing time of 25:44.01.

The teams will be on the track again on October 14 when they travel to Roberts Wesleyan for their always competitive invitational.
