Cross Country Heads to the NCAA Mideast Regionals

The cross country men and women will be in action again on November 11, when they travel to Waynesburg for the NCAA Mideast Regionals.  The men figure to be led by senior captain Brad Ruffo (West Middlesex/West Middlesex), who has placed first for the team in every race this season.  The women should be paced by Jenny Bailey (Corry/Corry), who has set the standard for the Behrend women in every race thus far.  Both Ruffo and Bailey were All-Conference First-Team selections for the men's and women's teams respectively.

Top performers at the Mideast Regionals will be qualified for the NCAA Nationals.  Last season Ruffo became the first Behrend Lion to qualify for the race, placing 62nd with a time of 26:53.  The men as a team finished 20th out of a total of 42 teams last season at Regionals, while the women grabbed 31st out of 46.

For runners that do not qualify for Nationals, the Mideast Regionals will mark the end of their cross country season.
