Andy Iams Named
ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR and AMCC Athlete of the Week
Penn State Behrend
Junior Andy Iams(Harrison City/Penn Trafford) was named
the ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR athlete of the week for October 6, 2008.
Iams was also named as the AMCC cross country runner of the week.
Iams has ran solid races throughout the year for the Behrend Lions. He
has anchored the blue and white finishing as the top runner in each of the
races this season. At the Bobcat Invitational on October 4th Iams finished
the course in 27:14 a full minute in front of the second place finisher.
The 27:14 mark was his best time this year. With Iams' time the
Behrend Lions were able to capture first place at the Bobcat Invitational
beating out nine other schools.
Iams has yet to finish out of the top ten this year. He has finished 7th, 8th and 9th along with his win at the Bobcat Invitational. Iams has shown continued improvement from his first race this year. He has nearly a minute off of his time from the first race.
The men's cross country team will be back in action on October 18th when they take part in the Oberlin Inter Regional Rumble. They will defend their conference championship on November 1st at Penn State Altoona.
