Women's Cross Country Team Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award

The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team was recently selected as an USTFCCCA (United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association) Division III All-Academic Team.

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet.  The team must also have a minimum 3.10 team cumulative grade point average.

A record total of 156 Division III women’s programs received the USTFCCCA’s All-Academic Team honors this year compared to 141 schools from last season.

The Penn State Behrend women earned the honor with a team GPA of 3.218 for the 2008 fall semester.

Coach Greg Cooper's women have made this an annual award, earning the honor four of the last five seasons.  Behrend women's cross country finished third at the 2008 AMCC Championships with a roster comprised largely of freshmen and sophomores.
