Men's Golf Hosts Annual Behrend Invitational at Peak n' Peak
The Penn State Behrend men's golf team hosted the annual Behrend
Invitational at Peak n' Peak ski and golf resort on Thursday, April
23. A total of nine schools participated in the event from
both the Division III and Division II levels.
The Penn Stats Behrend blue team and Medaille College both finished with a score of 309. That would be tops in the NCAA Division III level. In Division II play, Gannon was the winner, shooting an overall 290 on the day. A 300 was good enough for Lake Erie's second place, while Mercyhurst fell in third with a score of 312.
Top finishers for the Behrend
Lions included Joe Nelson (Warren/Warren) who shot a 74 on the day.
Both Kevin Koerbel (Gibsonia/Deer Lakes) and Jon Arrigo (Erie/Mercyhurst)
would end the day with a 78.
The Behrend Lions will conclude the
2009 season when they travel to Washington & Jefferson to compete in its
annual invitational. Play will begin on Sunday, April 26 and conclude
on Monday, April 27.
