Behrend Golf Team on Their Way to AMCC Championships
The championship will feature ten golf teams from around the conference. Last season saw Frostburg State capture the title, after shooting a 316 on Penn State Altoona's course. Behrend came in as runners-up last season, shooting a 320. The blue and white won the crown two years ago. Coach Bowen's first career win as head coach came in just his second match when Behrend took first at Peak n' Peek in the annual Behrend Invitational. Other season highlights include a second-place finish at the Mt. Aloysius Invitational and a third-place spot at the Altoona Invitational. Behrend has been led this season by Gary Dillaman (Meadville/Meadville) and Ricky Davis (New Castle/Neshannock). Dillaman has finished with a team low on three separate occasions throughout the season. Davis shot a Behrend season low 67 at the Behrend Invitational. Also contributing has been 2005 AMCC Player of the Year Dave Kostanich (Jefferson Hills/Thomas Jefferson), who had a team low 82 in the team's most recent outing at Lake Erie. |
