Behrend Men's Golf Team Wins Back to Back Tournaments

The Behrend men's golf team finished first for the second straight tournament on Saturday, September 26th at La Roche.  The men beat out nine other teams to capture the La Roche Invitational at the Wilwood Country Club in Pittsburgh, PA.  The win comes just one week after the team's last victory at the Penn State Altoona Invitational.

The Behrend Lions were led by two sophmores, Dave Kostanich (Jefferson Hills/Thomas Jefferson) and Alex Kiproff (Fox Chapel/Fox Chapel) who both finished with great scores of 75 each.  Kostanich was the individual score champion for the contest with Kiproff taking second due to a tie breaker.  Other notable scores were Josh Hull's (Cranberry Twp./Seneca Valley) 75, Josh Loaney's (Cranberry Twp./Seneca Valley) 83, and Gary Dillaman's (Meadville/Meadville) 87.

Head coach Patrick O'Connor reflected on the win, saying:

"The men played outstanding. They hit most of their fairways and shot consistently well all day. Dave Kostanich and Alex Kiproff are really stepping their game up.  It is nice to win other AMCC hosted tournaments and gain some momentum going into the AMCC Championships at Altoona."

The team has one more regular season tournament in Allegheny on October 4th before preparing for the AMCC championships at Penn State Altoona on October 9th.
