Club Sports Club sports can play an important role in the
development of a comprehensive
student life program. They offer opportunities for recreation and
competition Intercollegiate club sports are designed for competition against other academic institutions. Participation tends to be limited to a finite number of players-often the most skilled players-and resources are allocated primarily to facilitate league play. These competitive club sport programs have many characteristics common to varsity athletic teams, and others common to student organizations. There is typically need for coaching and supervision, and practices are held on a regular basis. For more information on intercollegiate club sports, contact the Office of Intramural and Recreational Programs at 814-898-6280. The intercollegiate club sports currently offered are Men's Lacrosse, Women's Lacrosse, Rugby and Ice Hockey. Penn State Behrend's ROTC students also compete against other institutions in ROTC's Ranger Challenge competition.
Recreational Club Sports Recreational club sports are recognized
by the Student Government Association (SGA). Activities sponsored
by each club are open to all students. Resources are available to
club sports through SGA, the student activity fee, and through fund
raising. For more information on recreational club sports, contact
