Men Drop the Bobcats 78-63 to Even AMCC Mark at 1-1

The Behrend men's basketball team dropped the Frostburg Bobcats 78-63 on Saturday, December 1 in the Junker Center to move to 3-0 at home. Behrend is now 1-1 in the conference and 4-1 overall.

Behrend jumped out to an 11-0 advantage early in the first half.
Justin Kovac (Venetia/Peters Township) found Adam Potter (Pittsburgh/Mt. Lebanon) with a nice bounce pass that turned into a sweet reverse to make it 7-0. After a pair of made free throws by Tom Newman (Girard/Northwestern), Potter hit a deep three to make it 11-0. Behrend went to the half up 32-24.

After not scoring in the first session Kevin Buczynski (Erie/Villa), who leads the blue and white in scoring, scored the first six points of the second half and finished with a game-high 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Potter contributed three makes from down town and five boards to go with 17 points, while Kovac added 14 points. Senior David Gahan (Erie/East) came off the bench with a big game to chip in 11 points and nine rebounds on a perfect five-for-five from the field.

The men have two conference games remaining before the holiday break.  First, they will next host Hilbert College (2-2) on Wednesday, December 5.  Game time is set for 8:00 p.m.  Then on Saturday, December 8 the Behrend Lions will travel to Pitt-Greensburg.
