Men's Basketball Saves Big Game for Television Limelight
Leading the way for the blue and white into the intermission was Kevin Buczynski (Erie/Villa Maria) with nine first half points as Behrend led 26-21. Behrend continued to lead through the second-half, jumping out to a 49-37 lead with just three minutes remaining. However, La Roche would make it interesting, coming within five with a minute left. Free throws down the stretch put the game away, as Behrend finished the game 57-51. Kevin Buczynski led all scorers with 25 points, along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Zack Kostorick had a big game for La Roche with twelve points and six boards. Steve Lucas added nine points and eight rebounds. The men play again tomorrow night in their final game of the regular season when they host AMCC-leading Lake Erie. The AMCC playoffs are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, February 21, the men play at 8:00 p.m. in the Junker against an opponent yet to be determined.
