Behrend Gears up for Season With Exhibition Match-up With Sheridan
The
Penn State Behrend men's basketball team will host an exhibition match with
Sheridan Institute of Technology from Ontario on Friday, November 10 at 6:00
p.m. The figures to be a good battle and should prepare the men for
their upcoming season.
Behrend enters the season looking to improve on a 20-8 record that took them to the second round of the ECAC Tournament, where they were eliminated by conference rival Pitt-Greensburg. AMCC Player of the Year, Kevin Buczynski returns for his junior year after averaging 18.7 ppg and 6.7 rpg last season. Speedy Justin Kovac will try to fill the hole left by Justin Jennings at point guard. Forward David Gahan will be relied on to improve upon his 11.6 ppg and 6.9 rpg last year. Seker and Newman will both contribute more after each had solid freshman seasons.
Behrend regular season will begin on Friday, November 18 when they host their annual Tip-Off Tournament. D'Youville will square off against Ohio Wesleyan at 6:00 p.m. before the blue and white take the court at 8:00 p.m. The tournament consolation and championship games will be held Saturday, November 19 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. respectively.
