Behrend Cruises in Exhibition Win Over Sheridan on Friday Night

The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team cruised past Sheridan College, 72-49, on Friday night in the Junker Center.

Behrend leaped out to a 35-24 halftime advantaged and recorded a 37-25 result in the second half. Kevin Buczynski (Erie/Villa Maria) and sophomore Nick Haller (Erie/Cathedral Prep) led the offense with 17 points apiece. Buczynski, the reigning player of the year in the AMCC, hit six of seven from the field and five-of-five at the line. He also grabbed a team-high seven boards. Haller, a first-year transfer, connected on four-of-seven from three-point territory for his 17 markers. Dan Ziegler (Johnsonburg/Johnsonburg) chipped in 10 points and five boards, while freshman Adam Potter (Pittsburgh/Mt. Lebanon) added ten points and three rebounds in the routine win.

Behrend enters the 2006-07 season looking to improve on last year's 20-8 record that took them to the second round of the ECAC Tournament.The regular season will begin on Friday, November 18 when they host their annual Tip-Off Tournament.  D'Youville will square off against Ohio Wesleyan at 6:00 p.m. before the blue and white take the court at 8:00 p.m.  The tournament consolation and championship games will be held Saturday, November 19 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. respectively.
