Behrend Men Down Pitt-Greensburg To Improve to 4-0 in AMCC Play

Penn State Behrend men's basketball avenged an 0-3 record in 2005-06 against the Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats with a 73-61 victory Saturday night, December 9 at the Junker Center.  Behrend improves to 5-2 overall and remains perfect in the AMCC at 4-0.  The Bobcats fall to 1-7 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

Behrend was led by junior center Kevin Buczynski (Erie/Villa Maria) who was the game's high scorer with 23 points coming on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor and 11-of-12 from the line.  Junior forward David Gahan (Erie/East) came off the bench and gave the blue and white 15 points and 11 rebounds on the night.

Behrend held a slim 25-22 advantage at the break but shot 61% from the floor in the second half and outscored Pitt-Greensburg 48-39.  The blue and white were aided by a significant edge on the glass, holding a 40-26 advantage in rebounds on the night.  Pitt-Greensburg was led by Rashad Davison who scored 16 and Matt Rowland who added 12 for the Bobcats.

The Behrend men are next in action on Monday, December 11 when they travel to Westminster College to battle the Titans in a contest scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
