Men's Basketball Drops Medaille 65-54 to Remain Undefeated in AMCC Play

Penn State Behrend men's basketball remained in control of the AMCC on Wednesday, January 10 as they downed the Medaille Mavericks 65-54.  The men are now 8-4 overall and 6-0 in the AMCC.  The Mavericks dropped to 4-9 overall and 0-6 in the conference.

Behrend went into the half up 31-22 after Tom Newman (Girard/Northwestern) connected three times from long range.  David Gahan (Erie/East) added a big half underneath chipping in ten points.

After a late second half surge by Medaille that closed the gap to 60-53, Kevin Buczynski (Erie/Villa Maria) hit six straight free throws to put the game back out of reach.

Buczynski led all scorers with 16 points to go along with his nine rebounds and was a perfect eight of eight from the line.  Newman finished with 14, while Gahan added 13.  The men shot 47% from the field while holding the Mavericks to just 35%.

The blue and white continue their stretch of fourteen straight in AMCC play with another home game on Saturday, January 13. Behrend will host La Roche in a 6:00 p.m. contest in the Junker Center.
