Buczynski Joins the 1,000 Point Club, Pursues Behrend Greats

Behrend men's basketball forward Kevin Buczynski (Erie/Villa Maria) recently hit the 1,000 point mark for his career here at Behrend.  Buczynski dropped 17 in the men's most recent victory over Frostburg State and reached the milestone with under six minutes remaining in the game.

Buczynski currently ranks fourteenth all-time in the Behrend record books with 1,001 points.  It will take him just one more point to catch Mike Powell's 1,002 but the marks steadily increase from there and are capped by James Curren's all-time leading total of 1,726.

Buczynski is shooting .578 from the field this season, bring his career percentage to .583, the second highest in Behrend history, behind Chris Hughes's .608.  His career shooting percentage from the free throw line is also stellar at .761 and currently holds tenth place in the books.

Behrend is the second place team in the AMCC and will play two straight on the road.  First up is a January 24 game at Mount Aloysius followed by another road game on January 27 at Pitt-Greensburg.
