Behrend Men Sprint Past Juniata In ECAC Tournament Semifinal Game

The Behrend men's basketball team defeated #4 Juniata 77-69 on Friday, March 2 in the ECAC Southern Tournament Semifinals, advancing to the championship game. 

The top-seeded Behrend Lions came out firing, hitting on 63% of their shots in the first half to take a 41-34 lead to the break.  The Eagles would come back to twice take the lead early in the second half.  Behrend led 62-59 with just under six minutes to play before going on a 6-0 run to take a nine point lead with two and a half minutes remaining.  The blue and white knocked down free throws down the stretch for the eight-point win.

Behrend will face #2 seed and weekend host DeSales University at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3 in the championship game.
 
Kevin Buczynski (Erie/Villa Maria) led the blue and white with 16 points and six rebounds, while Drew Seker (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) and Justin Kovac each reached double digits scoring 14 points and 10 points.
