Penn State Behrend Drops Decision to Case Western Reserve Penn State Behrend took the field on a cold and rainy day at the Behrend Fields and suffered a loss to the Case Western Reserve Spartans by a score of 3-0 on Friday, October 23. The Behrend Lions had their chances throughout the first half but could not capitalize on any of the opportunities. Behrend held strong on defense until the 27:55 mark of the first half when a member of the Case Western squad was pulled down in the box creating a penalty shot. The Spartans' Vinny Bell took the shot and converted to make the game 1-0 in favor of the Spartans. The second half saw two more goals from Case Western and Behrend continued to struggle to find the net. Goalkeeper Dustin Walker (Apollo/Kiski) ended the game with five saves. With the loss, the blue and white drop to 11-4-2 overall and remain 6-1-1 in AMCC play. Behrend will be back in action on Saturday, Ocotber 24 when the travel to Mount Aloysius for an AMCC matchup. The Behrend Lions will be back at home on Tuesday, October 27 when they take another AMCC opponent in D'Youville. |
