Behrend Lions Men's Soccer Picked as Preseason AMCC Favorites

The men's soccer team was selected as the strong favorite to repeat as AMCC soccer champions in the conference. The Behrend Lions received five of ten first place votes. Frostburg State, last season's runner-up in the AMCC title game, was selected to finish second while Pitt-Greensburg ranked third.

"We are a marked team this season," said head coach Dan Perritano, the 2003 AMCC Coach of the Year. "Teams will be excited and very prepared to play their best against us."

After clinching the AMCC regular-season and championship title, the Behrend Lions were invited to play in the NCAA tournament and lost to the defending national champions. In addition, senior Andy Laver earned AMCC Player of the Year honors. The squad posted a sharp 14-5-2 record.

The men regained their league title after taking second place for the last three consecutive seasons. They previously won the championship in 2000.
