Bash Earns Top Honors in Soccer

Penn State Behrend junior defender Dan Bash (Pittsburgh/Thomas Jefferson) was recently named to the 2004 Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team. He was selected for his strong defensive play during this past season. Bash, who was named to the second-team all-region, was one of only three members from the AMCC to be selected as part of this elite group of players.

Before earning all-region honors for the first time, Bash collected first-team all-conference recognition for the second year in a row.

Bash is a great defender that brings an intense and hard working attitude to the field everyday. He has great aerial ability and physical presence. He helped guide the Behrend Lions to a 12-6-1 overall record, finishing fifth in the AMCC. Behrend concluded its season with a hard-fought 3-1 loss against conference foe Frostburg in the first round of the AMCC Championships. The squad will be losing three players to graduation next season: Brian Vollant (Erie/McDowell), Jason Ferrier (Medina, OH/Highland), and Eric Nyberg (Erie/Cathedral Prep), and will count on the remaining players to step it up in 2005.
