AMCC Soccer Players Headed to Brazil

Penn State Behrend head soccer coach Dan Perritano is headed to Brazil this month with some of the region's finest Division III soccer players.  Among those making the trip with coach Perritano will be six Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference all-league players.

Behrend's Dan Bash (Pittsburgh, PA/Thomas Jefferson), Brian Blaszczyk (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst), and Justin Reese (Pittsburgh, PA/Thomas Jefferson) are all making the journey south.  Other AMCC travelers include Lake Erie's Justin Daly (Hubbard, OH/Hubbard) and Penn State Altoona's Evan Spence (Lincoln University, PA/Avon Grove) and Tim Wassell (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg).

The sports tour, which spans May 26-June 7, will provide an opportunity for those involved to visit one of the world's premier soccer nations while taking in unique cultural and soccer experiences.  The team will stay in both Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo, and will visit sites such as Maracana Stadium.  Maracana is the largest stadium in the world, and is considered by many to be the temple of soccer.  Players and coaches will also get a chance to interact and train with top Brazilian coaches and athletes.  The all-star squad will play five games while in Brazil.
