AMCC Soccer Player of the Week (10/3/05)
Behrend men’s soccer defender Bryan Blaszczyk (Erie/Mercyhurst Prep) has
been named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) soccer
player of the week. Blaszczyk helped the Behrend Lions to a 2-0
week in conference play as they shut out both
Hilbert and La Roche by identical 4-0 scores. For the week, Blaszczyk
scored two goals and recorded one assist, while anchoring a defense
that held opponents scoreless.
The senior captain has three goals and one assist, good for seven points this season, which places him among the leaders in the conference. Blaszczyk ranks first on the team (sixth in AMCC) in goals per game (.33) and first on the team (seventh in AMCC) in points per game (.78).
The blue and white are 7-2 on the season, 2-1 in AMCC play. They return to action October 5 when they host conference opponent Lake Erie at 4:00 p.m.
