Bash and Blaszczyk Earn Top Honor in Soccer

Penn State Behrend senior defenders Dan Bash (Pittsburgh/Thomas Jefferson) and Bryan Blaszczyk (Erie/Mercyhurst Prep) were recently named to the 2005 Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team. Bash was named to the third team and Blaszczyk to the second and they were two of only four members of the AMCC to receive this honor. These two defenders were also named to the AMCC First Team in 2005.   Both helped to anchor a tough defense that held opponents to less than a goal a game. This is the second year of All-Region accolades for Bash and first time for Blaszczyk.

"This was an outstanding way to cap two highly successful careers. Dan and Bryan have been tremendous players and have anchored our defense for four years and they will be missed next year," said head coach Dan Perritano.

These two players have worked hard together over the last four years in the back to secure a defense that was continually one of the best in the AMCC. They also helped the Behrend Lions to their first ever NCAA birth in 2003 and to the ECAC tournament in 2005. The Behrend Lions finished their season with a record of 12-7 and a fourth place finish in the AMCC.
