Men's Soccer Heads to Germany for World Cup in June

Men's soccer will be leaving for the world cup in Munich, Germany on Tuesday, June 13.  Coach Dan Perritano will be taking his team for a full week of soccer action, including three games against local European competition.  "The three matches will provide our players with a tremendous level of competition.  And I fully expect the experiences off the field both cultural and socially to be outstanding," said coach Perritano.

The team will experience a full tour of three historic European soccer cities.  After arriving and spending three days in Munich, the team will travel to Salzburg, Austria for three nights, and finally to Vienna, Austria for two nights.  "Our group is excited to be part of the World Cup in Germany.  To be embedded into the host countries' soccer culture will certainly help to broaden our players perspective of the game and world," said coach Perritano.

Some of the trip's highlights include: a tour of the Nymphenburg Palace in Munich, a visit to the Hohensalzburg Fortress in Salzburg, and a stop by the Baroque abbey-palace of Melk, the building the great Napolean used as his headquarters.
