Men's Soccer Cruises to Victory in Shutout Victory Over Mt. Aloysius

The Behrend men’s soccer team cruised past the Mt. Aloysius Mounties on Saturday, September 23, by a final score of 12-0.  The game was dominated by Behrend in every aspect, with the blue and white out shooting the Mounties 51-2, and amassing all 13 corners in the game.

Scoring started early when David Baleno (Pittsburgh/Plum) scooted one past Mountie’s goalie Brady Griesheimer.  Three minutes later Ahmad Salim (Cranberry/Seneca Valley) took one in himself to put Behrend up two and start the scoring melee.  Salim would find net again before the half after being set up by a Jarrett Carleson (Washington/Chartiers Houston) pass.  Jerry Tortella (Pittsburgh/Thomas Jefferson), Brian Egan (New Alexandria/Norwin), and Mark Delgreco (Pittsburgh/Seton LaSalle) would all get in on the fun before the half was out.  Behrend started the second up 6-0.

Behrend would tack on six more in the second half.  Both Salim and Delgreco would ring up hat tricks with three goals a piece.  The Behrend backs were impenetrable, giving up just two shots all game.

The win puts the men at 2-5-1 on the season and 1-0 in the AMCC as they prepare to host the Medaille Mavericks on Tuesday, September 26.
