Q & A With Men's Soccer Head Coach Dan Perritano

1. WHAT IS YOUR GENERAL THOUGHT ON HOW THE SEASON HAS STARTED AND WHERE YOUR TEAM STANDS RIGHT NOW?

I like where we are right now, we have our team positioned well at the start of conference play and we are starting to play our best soccer of the season.  Key matches this week with LEC and UPG will go a long way in determining our seeding.

2. WHO IS PERFORMING WELL FOR THE TEAM?

Sean Ruhlman and Keith DeNinno have played well in the back with David Baleno, Adam Cline and Jarrett Carlson providing good link play in the middle, and we are starting to see more consistent play up front from Ahmad Salim.

3. AS OF NOW, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN THIS WEEKEND IN CONFERENCE PLAY?

This week offers some key match ups in the league with some of the top ranked teams in the pre season going head to head.

4. HAS ANYBODY REALLY SURPRISED YOU WITH WHAT THEY BROUGHT BACK FROM THE OFFSEASON/PRESEASON?

Pitt Bradford appears to be very improved and Altoona and Medaille have added some young exciting talent to their teams. As always Frostburg will be a challenge and of course Lake Erie who played in the final last season is improved.
The league is very balanced.

5. WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE HEADING INTO THE REMAINING PART OF THE SEASON
?

Continuing to improve and find a balance between our defending play and attacking play. We are organized well at the back and our younger players are gaining valuable experience. Our success will be defined by how we play in the final third of the season.

6. WHAT IS YOUR EXPECTATION FOR THE END OF THE SEASON AND POSTSEASON?

Peak for the AMCC playoffs and position our team for a playoff run with a good seed which will be determined over the next two and a half weeks.
