Behrend Men's Soccer Selected Third in Preseason Poll

The Penn State Behrend men’s soccer team has been chosen to finish third in the AMCC preseason poll.  Penn State Altoona was selected to win the championship in 2007, with Medaille coming in second.  “Once again the league has great depth and balance,” said coach Dan Perritano.  “It should be a highly competitive year.”

A year ago the Behrend Lions made the AMCC playoffs but lost in semi-final play against 2006 AMCC champions Medaille.  They conclude the year with an overall record of 8-9-2, finishing fourth with a conference record of 5-3-1.  The blue and white’s last championship was in 2003, when they also appeared in the NCAA tournament.  They will strive and work hard to accomplish their goal, to be champions once again.

The AMCC regular season play kicks off on September 22, where Behrend will face Mt. Aloysius.  The conference Championship will be on Saturday, November 3.  The winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
