Behrend's Cline and Walker Named Men's Soccer Players of the Week

After capturing the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship and league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, two Behrend Lions received AMCC men's soccer player of the week honors for November 5.

Dustin Walker (Apollo/Kiski Area) was named AMCC Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week after shutting out Penn State Altoona in the AMCC semifinals on October 31 and holding the defending champion Medaille Mavericks to a single goal in a 2-1 overtime victory to capture the title on November 3.  This is the third goalkeeper of the week award this season for the sophomore stopper.  Walker was also an AMCC All-Conference First Team selection this fall.

Adam Cline (Jefferson Hills/Thomas Jefferson) was tabbed the AMCC Player of the Week after scoring both goals in the championship win over Medaille.  Cline's game-tying goal came in dramatic fashion with only 19 seconds remaining in the game.  The junior then stuffed home another just four minutes into overtime to take the title and punch a ticket to the NCAA Tournament.  Cline was also a AMCC All-Conference Second Team selection this fall.

The Behrend Lions (13-4-3) will next play in the first round of the Division III NCAA Tournament.  The men will travel to Washington & Jefferson and take on the Presidents on Wednesday, November 7.  Kick-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
