Behrend Softball's Koman Named AMCC Pitcher of the Week

softball star Julie Koman (McKees Rocks/Montour) was named AMCC Softball
Pitcher of the Week on April 30. This is the third pitcher of
the week honor for Koman this season.
The sophomore had a dominant week on the mound for the blue and white,
getting two of Behrend's four consecutive wins to close out conference play.
Koman threw a three-hit, six-strikeout, complete game shutout against
Hilbert and followed it up with a two-hit, nine-strikeout, complete game
shutout against Frostburg State. She also chipped in at the plate,
going 3-for-3 with two home runs and a double.
Koman currently leads the AMCC in E.R.A (1.32) and opposing batting average
(.217). In addition she is second in the league in strikeouts (127)
and wins (13).
Behrend will play a first-round AMCC tournament game on Friday, May 4 at
10:00 a.m. at North Allegheny High School. #3 seed Behrend will battle
#6 seed Lake Erie in a single-elimination game for the chance to advance in
the AMCC Tournament May 4-6 hosted by #1 La Roche.
