Whitby Named to ECAC
Division III Southern Softball All-Star Team

State Behrend sophomore standout Katie Whitby (Tyrone/Tyrone) has
been named to the 2007 ECAC Division III Southern Softball All-Star
Team. The centerfielder received the honor when the
announcement for the ECAC Softball All-Star teams was made on July
25.
This spring Whitby was stellar at the plate for the Behrend Lions. She led the team in
runs (42), stolen bases (11), and triples (10). She was also
near the top of the leaderboard in batting average (.417), hits (60),
and total bases (86). Whitby also had a slugging percentage of
.597 and knocked in 20 runs.
At the conclusion of her tremendous season, Whitby was also selected
to the AMCC All-Conference First Team. This spring the Behrend Lions finished with a record of 29-16 and advanced to the
championship game of the ECAC Tournament.
