Behrend's Emma Hahn No-Hits Her Way to AMCC Pitcher of the Week

Penn State Behrend freshman Emma Hahn (Smethport, PA/Smethport) was named the AMCC pitcher of the week for the week of April 5, 2009. Hahn would earn two victories last week.  Hahn would throw two shutouts, including a no-hitter against conference foe Pitt-Bradford.

In her start against Pitt-Bradford Hahn would pitch a shortened complete game as the Behrend Lions would prevail 9-0.  Hahn would not give up a hit in the five innings striking out seven batters and giving up two walks.  This was Hahn's second no-hitter of the season the first came  against another conference opponent, Medaille, on March 25.  In her second start of the week Hahn held Hiram to three hits while sitting down eight Hiram batters.  Hahn would pitch all seven innings in the 6-0 win for the blue and white.

Hahn carries a 5-2 mark entering this weeks match-ups.  Over the season she has appeared in ten games pitching in 35 innings.  Hahn has only given up 20 hits, nine earned runs, and is holding opposing hitters to a measly .163 batting average.  Hahn holds a 2.31 ERA and has 49 strike outs on the year.  Hahn finds herself ranked fourth in ERA and third in strikes.

The Behrend Lions (15-4, 7-0) will be back on the Behrend diamond on April 8 as they meet Franciscan University for the first time in AMCC action.  That game is slated for a 3:00 p.m. start time.
