Lawrence Named AMCC and Enterprise RENT-A-CAR Athlete of the Week
Senior
shortstop, Rachelle Lawrence (Warren Center/North East Bradford), was
named both the AMCC player of the week and the Enterprise RENT-A-CAR athlete
of the week for the week of April 13, 2009.
Lawrence would go 10-for-15 (.667) in a 4-0 week for the
Behrend Lions. She hit 4 for 7 in a sweep of Thiel, then followed up with a
6 for 8 showing against AMCC opponent Pitt-Greensburg. She smacked two
triples and a home run, drove in eight runs and scored five, while striking
out just once.
Lawrence is hitting .439 (25-for-57) on the year while driving in 16 runners
and scoring 16 times. Lawrence has only committed two errors in 19
games. Over her four year career Lawrence is
hitting .312 with 131 hits and nearly 200 total bases.
Behrend will next play a home non-conference doubleheader on April 14
against Westminster . The doubleheader will begin at 3:00 p.m. and
will be broadcast on Image Sports.
