Women's Tennis Looks to Lock up AMCC Regular Season Championship

Behrend women's tennis hosts 0-6 Chatham on Saturday, September 30 and will lock up the AMCC regular season championship for a third straight season if they win.  Behrend enters the contest at a perfect 12-0, 4-0 in the AMCC.

"Winning the conference regular season championship is nice, but our goal is to win the post-season championship," said coach Barger.  "We believe that we can go undefeated in the AMCC again this season and capturing the regular season championship is a stepping stone toward that goal."

The women are led again this year by senior Mindy Calvert (Warren/Warren) and junior Allison Mudrey (Hermitage/Hickory), both of whom are 9-2 in singles play. Also coming in and making an immediate impact is freshman sensation Karen Hobaugh (Kutztown/Kutztown) who boasts an unblemished mark of 9-0.

Doubles play has Mindy Calvert and Mudrey teaming up and Hobaugh with Christy Calvert (Warren/Mercyhurst Prep).  Both teams have produced identical 9-0 records on the year.

After Chatham, the blue and white will begin a three-game road trip, starting off against Bryn Mawr on October 6.
