Q & A With Behrend Women's Tennis Coach Jeff Barger

1. WHAT IS YOUR GENERAL THOUGHT ON HOW THE SEASON HAS STARTED AND WHERE YOUR TEAM STANDS RIGHT NOW?

I feel very good about our season at this point. I am even a little surprised at how some of the young players are doing.

2. WHO IS PERFORMING WELL FOR THE TEAM?

Everyone is playing pretty well. Allison Mudrey, Mindy Calvert, Christy Calvert and Karen Hobaugh have been very good.

3. AS OF NOW, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN IN CONFERENCE PLAY?

We finish off the regular season conference slate with Frostburg on October 8, and I am hoping for a good match from us.

4. HAS ANYBODY REALLY SURPRISED YOU WITH WHAT THEY BROUGHT BACK FROM THE OFFSEASON?

All the new players in the program have done really well.

5. WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE HEADING INTO THE REMAINING PART OF THE SEASON?

Keeping players focused. As we near the end sometimes we can get a bit lazy.

6. WHAT IS YOUR EXPECTATION FOR THE END OF THE SEASON AND POSTSEASON?

I hope we can finish strong and go into the tournament playing our best tennis of the season.
