Women's Tennis Takes Their 15-1 Record to the AMCC Championships
Behrend has won the conference tournament the last two years, and six of the nine seasons the tournament has been in place. Last year Behrend took the crown in convincing fashion, racking up a total of 16 points and outscoring second-place Penn State Altoona by 10. Along with the title, Allison Mudrey (Hermitage/Hickory) grabbed the 2005 AMCC Player of the Year award and coach Barger earned Coach of the Year honors. Highlighting the line up for the championship will be Mudrey in 1st singles, Mindy Calvert (Warren/Warren) at 2nd singles, Christy Calvert (Warren/Mercyhurst Prep) in the 3rd flight, and Karen Hobaugh (Kutztown/Kutztown) in the four hole. Mudrey has been unstoppable in AMCC play, going 5-0 in conference contests. Mindy Calvert comes in at 10-4, while her sister Christy defends a 12-2 mark. Hobaugh also boasts a 12-2 overall record. Teaming up for doubles will be Mudrey and Mindy Calvert, who are 6-0 in the AMCC in doubles play this season. The other couple will be Christy Calvert and Hobaugh, who are also undefeated in the conference, with a 6-0 record. The tournament is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. Driving directions to the Oxford North Athletic Club can be found at http://www.amcconf.org/Directions to Oxford.htm
