Boyea Named
AMCC Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Penn
State Behrend men's tennis player Miles Boyea (St. Vincent, WI/Upper
Canada) was named the AMCC Men's Tennis Player of the Week on March
26. The junior helped the blue and white edge the defending
AMCC Champion, Penn State Altoona 5-4 on Sunday, March 25.
Boyea, who was AMCC Men's Tennis Player of the Year last season, was
victorious at #2 singles and #1 doubles. In singles action,
Boyea rolled to a 6-2, 6-3 win. In doubles play Boyea teamed
with Scott Shaw (Tulsa, OK/Jenks) to get an 8-4 win over Altoona's
top doubles team. This is Boyea's first selection as player of
the week this season.
With the win Behrend moves to 1-0 in
conference play. Next up for men's tennis will be a pair of home
matches against Alfred on Friday, March 30 and versus conference
opponent Frostburg State on Saturday, March 31.
