Tennis Picks Up Two Wins Over Spring Break
The Penn State Behrend Lions
men's tennis team went 2-4 over spring break in competition at
Hilton Head, South Carolina. Behrend defeated Eastern Nazarene
and Northwestern of Minnesota, while dropping matches to University
of Charleston, Defiance, University of Texas at Dallas, and West
Liberty.
Against Northwestern of Minnesota on March 10, Behrend invidiual
winners were Elliot Blackstone
(Wexford/Pine-Richland), Shane
Mosier (Kersey/St. Marys),
John Henderson (Upper St. Clair/Upper St.
Clair), and Trevor Dougherty
(Meadville/Meadville).
The team of Miles Boyea (St. Vincent, WI/Upper
Canada) and James Getty (Erie/Harborcreek)
also picked up a victory in doubles action as Behrend won 5-4.
On March 12 against Eastern Nazarene, Behrend individual winners
were Boyea, Blackstone, Henderson, and Dougherty. Boyea and
Getty teamed up for one doubles victory and Blackstone and Henderson
teamed up for another. Behrend won the match 6-3.
The blue and white return to action in a home match against AMCC
opponent Pitt-Greensburg on March 25. The match is scheduled
for 5:00 p.m.
