Dougherty Leaves Behrend Men's Tennis as All-Time Wins Leader

Behrend Lions men's tennis senior Trevor Dougherty (Meadville/Meadville) will be leaving the blue and white after setting the all-time wins record this season.  Dougherty holds the career singles wins record at Behrend, after winning 51 singles matches in his four-year career.  Dougherty compiled an overall singles record of 51-24 while at Behrend.

Dougherty was a three-year team captain for the blue and white.  He was selected to the AMCC All-Conference first team in 2006 and 2007 and the second team in 2005 and 2008.  Dougherty was the team's Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2005 and was the team's Leadership/Scholarship Award winner in 2006 and 2008.

Head coach Jeff Barger said, "Trevor was a great team leader for us.  He did what was asked of him and played at a number of different singles positions for our team each season.  Despite battling arm injuries his entire career, Trevor got it done on the court and now holds our all-time wins record."

The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team had another successful season in 2008, and the blue and white capped off a great year by capturing the AMCC Championship for the first time since 2004.  Coach Barger's squad finished up at 11-7 overall and 6-0 in league play.
